For students who know the basics and want to improve their game. Focuses on openings, tactics, middlegame plans and positional understanding
Advanced Course
Aimed at serious players preparing for competitive tournaments. Includes deep opening preparation, endgame techniques and advanced strategic concepts.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1. At what age can my child start learning chess?
Children as young as 5 years can start learning. We have separate groups for beginners, intermediates, and advanced learners.
Q2. Do you offer both online and offline classes?
Yes, we provide both. However, offline classes are highly recommended as children benefit more from real board practice and face-to-face guidance.
Q3. How many classes are conducted per month?
We conduct 8 classes every month (2 classes per week), including theory and match practice.
Q4. Do you organise tournaments for students?
Yes. We host monthly inter-academy tournaments, and also organise State Championships, All-India and International events.
Q5. Who are the coaches?
All our coaches are International FIDE-rated players with years of experience in teaching and competing.

“As a chess player and coach for more than two decades, I’ve seen how this beautiful game can transform young minds. Kolkata Chess Institute was founded with the goal of helping children not only become strong chess players, but also confident, disciplined and thoughtful individuals.
We offer both offline and online classes, though I truly believe children benefit greatly from our offline sessions, where they receive face-to-face guidance and real board practice. Along with regular training, we also organise monthly inter-academy tournaments, and conduct State Championships and other recognised events each year to give our students exposure and motivation.
